Masthope’s trail network and nearly 26 miles of roadway create the perfect setting for an ATV adventure. We offer two touring-model ATVs, accommodating up to four riders at a time for a fun and scenic ride through the community.

Masthope offers a full calendar of community events and activities all year long. From summer barbecues, clam bakes, and pool parties to winter snowshoeing treks, camping adventures, and spectacular fireworks, there’s always something happening to bring the community together in every season.

In winter, eagles are here in our region; they are active and out and about. Learn where and how best to view eagles with assistance from the Delaware Highlands Conservancy.

Located adjacent to the sports courts at the Lodge, guests can enjoy the fitness trail featuring outdoor exercise equipment and obstacle stations. This course is part of a larger network of trails that winds throughout the Mountaintop Village, offering a unique way to stay active while exploring the community.

Masthope stable staff cares for a herd of approximately 20 horses that are ready to go with pony rides, trail rides, arena rides and private lessons. Daily rides are available all summer and a modified schedule is available throughout the rest of the year.

Get ready for a relaxing day on the water! Masthope’s waterfront offers kayaks, paddleboards, and paddleboats for rent on Westcolang Lake, and we also have our own kayaks and paddleboards available for guest use on both the lake and river. Start your adventure gliding across the calm, scenic waters - whether kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding, it’s the perfect way to ease into the day. Peaceful, refreshing, and just adventurous enough, it lets you take in the natural surroundings at your own pace.

Enjoy a scenic driving tour of our beautiful region, with stops in charming local downtowns to explore and enjoy a bite to eat along the way. Throughout the journey, you’ll also experience historical landmarks and scenic highlights that showcase the best of the area.

We offer snowshoeing onsite! With 4 sets of shoes, you and your family can explore the trails within the community or even outside the community at a local park or nature preserve. No snow? No problem. We are able to accommodate guided trips on the slopes of Ski Big Bear on days the mountain is closed (as long as snowmaking is not in progress).

Come cook and dine with us! Choose from a variety of recipes ranging from favorite entrées and savory appetizers to classic homemade desserts. Each season brings new flavors and fresh inspiration, and we love incorporating locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Past experiences have included everything from full Thanksgiving dinners and charcuterie board workshops to homemade pasta-making nights and more!

Fishing is available nearby on the Delaware River and at our River Park, as well as on Westcolang Lake at our waterfront dock. Westcolang Lake is catch-and-release only, helping preserve the natural environment for future enjoyment. Please note that a valid Pennsylvania fishing license is required to fish anywhere in the state.

With a huge selection of board games, card games, party games, and interactive challenges, your family or group of friends will stay entertained all night long. Meet us at the lodge for a game of shuffleboard, bocce, horseshoes or mini golf. Equipment is available to rent from the community during the summer. In the off season, we've got it covered.

The community pool complex is located at the summit of the ski mountain and offers something for all ages. The facility features two large competition-size pools, a waterslide, a diving board, in-pool seating, a splash pad, a wading pool, and a zero-depth entry area - perfect for both relaxation and family fun.

Ski Big Bear is a family friendly mountain and great for beginners. Located within the community, the mountain offers a 650’ vertical drop, 18 trails and 7 lifts.

Stay active with a friendly game on the sports courts. On select days, we also host tournaments! Equipment is available to rent from the community during the summer. In the off season, we've got it covered.

Volleyball is available at both the mountaintop and the beach, offering fun, casual play in two great locations.

Grab a teammate and get ready for a game of badminton! Matches are typically set up at River Park or on the mountaintop, with opportunities for casual play and friendly tournaments throughout the season.

Gather around the campfire for a cozy night of fun! Roast marshmallows, make delicious s’mores, and enjoy great company, laughter, and warm memories by the fire.

Create a cupcake masterpiece inspired by crazy and imaginative themes! Decorate your cupcakes with creative designs, fun toppings, and unique ideas to stand out from the competition. At the end, non-participating guests will judge each creation and vote for the most creative, original, and visually impressive cupcakes.

Are you the next Masthope Masterchef? In this competition, an individual or team will prepare a signature dish of their choice in a specific category (appetizer, entrée, or dessert.) Teams will have a select amount of time to prepare their dish and must incorporate the secret ingredient.

Enjoy a movie night with fresh buttered popcorn on the big screen - either indoors for a cozy evening or outside under the stars for the ultimate outdoor cinema experience. During the summer months, movies are also shown at Masthope Lodge, on the beach, and at the ski area, making movie nights a favorite part of the getaway.

Ski Big Bear offers tubing fun for the whole family on weekends and holiday periods! Sledding is also offered weather permitting, in designated areas of the community where conditions allow.
